"If you're going to get one stone holder, get this one. It's made out of two simple but sturdy materials, a steel that I presume is stainless and a soft but very tough polymer. The springs are strong and secure stones very firmly. The polymer conforms to stones gripping them confidently, so much so that you can clamp stones on their sides to use the stone edges while sharpening. The materials cleans up very easily, mud and filings come off with a quick rinse and wipe. I love the compact size, it fits in my portable sharpening kit far more nicely than a traditional double-screw stone holder. The feet are super grippy, I can slurry a flat 4000 grit stone with a 320 grit diamond plate and it doesn't slide around. Those who have tried slurrying fine stones with plates or other flat objects know how much friction there is. I anticipate this holder lasting me a lifetime."
"The holder and double sided stone work as explained in the store and during the knife sharpening course. Just need some time and patience. All of the knives I have sharpened are much more useful now."
"It supports stones pretty well and is decently non-slip. Seems robust enough to last so far. The lip is low so no problem with thin stones. Works well on my sink bridge. Bit expensive but anything like this is hard to find. If yours comes like mine and you use standard stone lengths, it will need to be adjusted to the nuts are at the end of the screws. It is just too much force otherwise. It's a bit of a pain to adjust and will require 2 wrenches and potentially pliars. You may also need to give it a slight twist to have all the pieces properly aligned."
"Great stone holder which is easy to use and switch stones. The bottom is a little grippy to help with keeping the stone in place. Love it!"
"Easy to switch out stones with the hassle."
"This is the first one I've purchased and wasn't certain at first. It holds a traditional size stone quite well. No slippage!!"
"Bought this for my Shapton glass"
"I bought this along with a 200 grit and 1000 grit stone for sharpening kitchen knives. All work great. The holder keeps the stone in place. Spring loading is smooth and firm. I really like it."
"Birthday gift for our son. He enjoys cooking and has purchased a number of products from Knifewear. I watched a few videos and will be purchasing for my home soon too."
