About Toyama - This series of pruning shears are made by a company called Toyama Hamono in Sanjo, Niigata. They have been specialized in making pruning shears since the early 1860s. When Masashi-san was visiting us in the Summer of 2017, he had a few pruning shears from this company and gifted them to gardeners at Japanese garden and gardeners at the Japanese embassy. The handles for these pruning shears are drop forged and the edge is sharpened to beautiful convex.
Made in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata, Japan

Works Perfectly

"These work perfectly for small branches where you need nice clean cuts. Use them to prune my garden and my small apple tree. Add in the fact that these are able to be sharpened easily and are handmade by craftsmen and you have a very good deal. I also bought some camellia oil to protect these"

Best pair of pruners I

"Best pair of pruners I have ever owned. The handles fit perfectly in my hands and are very comfortable and to me that’s so important plus these will last me forever! Worth every penny ❤️"

Simple, Elegant, and Sharp

"A beautiful and simply designed pair of shears. Forged out of solid pieces of high carbon steel and razor sharp. One of the most unique features of these shears is the lock snap at the back. Works every time and keeps the tool safe, unlike other cheaper shears I've used where the lock doesn't work that well. Safety first!"

Toyama Pruning Shears

"On a whim purchased a set of 200mm Toyama Offset Pruning Shears. They came beautifully packaged and wickedly sharp. They fit my hand nicely and I am transported to a higher level as I prune my Japanese maples and dwarf Japanese conifers. Love them."

Q&A

What is the advantage of the offset design (vs T14)? More leverage for smaller hands?
Hey there, there isn't a real functional difference between the different models, just what people prefer more than anything. - Ellie
